Tet Holiday

Tet or “Vietnamese Lunar New Year” is the most important holiday  in Vietnam. This festival presents clearly many excellent cultural symbols for Vietnamese’s people. These posters presented the traditional stories and rituals occur in Vietnamese society from the past until now.

The first poster describe the Kitchen God story that is regarded in Vietnamese culture as the advocate of the Vietnamese family with the gods and the emissary between heaven to earth. Vietnamese people regard Ông Táo as a family member, and various prayers and offerings are brought to him at the family altar. The Tet period seemingly starts from the Kitchen God ceremony event in each family.

The second poster introduces the customs to prepare for Tet. Vietnamese believes that there must be enough salt, rice and water in their house in Tet, it symbolizes the wish to be happy and rich in the next coming year.
